Car crashes and injuries in Chandler
Chandler had 4,267 reported crashes in 2024. Fourteen were fatal crashes and 1,263 were injury crashes. Fifteen people died and 1,856 were hurt. Alcohol played a role in 181 of those crashes. From 2021 to 2025, the City of Chandler reports more than 16,000 crashes on city streets, including 356 with a severe injury and 74 with one or more fatalities (Chandler Roadway Safety Action Plan). Crashes here often happen on busy multi-lane arterials and near the Loop 101, Loop 202 and I-10 edges, where volume and speed make injuries more serious. Many at-fault drivers carry too little insurance or none at all. The Insurance Research Council estimated that 10.6% of Arizona drivers were uninsured in 2023 (via the Insurance Information Institute). Arizona's minimum liability limits are $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident for bodily injury (A.R.S. § 28-4009). Arizona insurers generally must offer uninsured and underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) coverage in writing, and the named insured can decline it (A.R.S. § 20-259.01). Truck accidents
A fully loaded semi can weigh many times more than the car it hits. The results are brutal. Across Arizona in 2024, 3,245 truck tractors, with or without semi-trailers, were involved in crashes. Of those, 106 were in fatal crashes and 679 were in injury crashes (ADOT 2024 Crash Facts, Table 5-2, p. 27).
Chandler sees a steady flow of commercial traffic. Semis run on I-10 and the Loop 202 and Loop 101. Box trucks and delivery vans serve the city's warehouses, manufacturing plants, shopping centers, and neighborhoods. Every one of those trucks belongs to a company, and that company has an insurer and a defense team ready the moment a crash is reported.
Truck cases are not bigger car cases. They are different fights. More than one party can share responsibility: the driver, the trucking company, the company that loaded the cargo, the company that maintained the truck, or others. Each defendant points at the others. We sort out who is responsible and bring claims against all of them.
Evidence is everything, and it does not last. Trucking companies keep driver logs, dispatch records, and electronic data from the truck. That evidence can be lost or overwritten if no one demands it early. Do not count on the trucking company to save it for you. We send preservation demands right away and follow up hard.
We also look at the truck itself. Brake condition, tire wear, cargo weight, and maintenance history all matter. So do the driver's hiring file and hours on the road that day. We gather photos, scene evidence, and witness statements while memories are fresh, and we bring in crash reconstruction when the case calls for it.

Motorcycle accidents
Across Arizona in 2024, crashes killed 219 motorcycle riders and passengers and injured 2,503 more (ADOT 2024 Crash Facts, Table 1-1, p. 2).
Chandler riders face drivers who change lanes without checking their mirrors and cars that turn left across an oncoming bike. The injuries are serious: broken bones, road rash, head trauma. Insurers love to paint riders as reckless. We counter with the facts: the scene, the skid marks, the damage to the bike, and the gear you were wearing. Even if the insurer claims you share some fault, Arizona's comparative fault rule only reduces your damages by your share. In general, it does not wipe out your claim (A.R.S. § 12-2505). Rear-end collisions
Rear-end crashes are the most common multi-vehicle crash in Arizona. In 2024 there were 38,654 of them, 37.51% of all multi-vehicle crashes. They caused 12,221 injury crashes, or 38.35% of multi-vehicle injury crashes (ADOT 2024 Crash Facts, Table 3-1, p. 18).
In Chandler, they can happen anywhere traffic stacks up, from backed-up lights around Chandler Fashion Center to stop-and-go traffic near the Loop 101 and Loop 202 interchange. The insurer will call these "minor" crashes. Whiplash, back injuries, and concussions are not minor. Do not give the other driver's insurer a statement. Pedestrian and bicycle accidents
In 2024, 263 pedestrians died on Arizona roads and 1,912 were injured. More than one in eight pedestrian crashes, 12.55%, ended in a death. Bicyclists had 44 killed and 1,349 injured, and 3.19% of bike crashes were fatal (ADOT 2024 Crash Facts, Table 1-1 and Arizona at a Glance, p. 2).
In Chandler, walkers and cyclists cross wide arterials, ride bike lanes next to fast traffic, and use canal paths that meet busy streets. Drivers turning right on red often look left for cars and never look right for the person in the crosswalk. We prove what the driver should have seen. Get medical help first. Call 911 if anyone is hurt. If you can move, photograph every vehicle, the intersection or freeway mile marker, and your injuries. Collect the other driver's license, insurance, and plate, and get contact information from anyone who stopped. Write down the officer's name and the report number.
